EDUCATION
Education is provided in small tutor groups with an emphasis on each individual’s education plan. High staff to pupil ratios ensure this is delivered in a purposeful and structured way.
We follow the National curriculum through the relevant key stages and offer courses to GCSE standard. OCR qualifications and vocational courses are also catered for. Young people with special needs receive specialist teaching. Changes in 14+ education offer greater flexibility in the balance between academic and vocational subjects. This is recognised in Four Elm’s educational programmes. Our staff are experienced in ADHD, Asperger’s, MLD, EBD and other challenges that young people face in life.
We include a life skills programme based on the Asdan Scheme to prepare young people for life outside the care environment.
We strive to provide a 24 hour curriculum for our young people that offers a secure base to address their intellectual, social, emotional, spiritual and physical needs.
We acknowledge the fundamental need for stimulating experiences through adventure challenge and exploration. |
