Concept Care staff are chosen for their professional experience, qualifications and ability to engage young people.

Staff training is paramount in our organisation. All senior staff are highly qualified and experienced. Not only do they benefit from many internal training opportunities offered through training days and supervision but we also ensure that a full NVQ programme is maintained for staff. Our education staff undertake continuous professional development. In addition, staff attend many relevant training courses e.g. First Aid, Counselling skills and managing challenging behaviour. Childcare and Education are dynamic and progressive professions and so great emphasis is placed on training to ensure a consistent approach that is always striving to achieve the best possible practices.

Senior management

Apart from the two Directors who have 25 year’s of organisational experience, as well as experience with children with SEN, ADHD and Asperger’s, the new senior structure is as follows:

Principal - Ian Julier CSS: Ian has been a unit manager for over 8 years.e has 23 years experience of relating to children with a range of difficult behaviours and emotional challenges. He also holds many relevant certificates and diplomas.

Head of Education - Raymond Saunders B.Ed. (Hons):
Ray is very experienced and has various post graduate qualifications specialising in special needs. Over 20 years spent in this sector.

Head of Care - Matthew Simpson NVQ4 Managers award (Children & Young People): Matt has 16 years experience in this sector and is a very committed & dedicated professional.

Manager - Jeff Ottway NVQ4: Jeff is manager of our Lewisham unit. Over 20 years of experience in various settings in residential care, including secure and residential settings.

Manager - Mel Julier DipSW: Mel is manager of our Colchester unit. With over 20 years experience in various settings including social work with young people with complex needs.
